FBI, police investigating 'It's OK to be white,' 'Islam is right about women' flyers posted on college campus

Connecticut university president promises 'severest disciplinary actions' for 'attack on our university community'

Flyers declaring "It's OK to be white" and "Islam is right about women" were found Thursday night on the campus of Western Connecticut State University, the Hartford Courant reported — and now the Federal Bureau of Investigation as well as state and local police are on the case in an effort to identify who distributed them.

'Hate-filled flyers'

University President John Clark penned a strongly worded message on Friday to the campus community condemning the "hate-filled flyers" and asking people to come forward with information.

Clark said the "full-scale investigation" includes a "review of footage from our surveillance cameras as well as interviews with individuals who may have witnessed any of this despicable and utterly unacceptable behavior."

He added, "Have no doubt that we are treating this as an attack on our university community and making every effort to see that those responsible are caught and properly punished. I am fully committed to the absolutely necessary goal this does not happen again. We must be ever vigilant to protect our university against these hateful attacks."

More from Clark's message:

There is a distinct possibility this is the work of outside agitators. If correct, we will take the appropriate action to defend our university against such virulent attacks and take action against these individual(s). I want to state directly and without equivocation that if any member of our university community is found to be party to these revolting actions they will be subject to the severest disciplinary actions, including dismissal as well as possible civil and criminal actions.

I am both shocked and immensely saddened about this sick and outrageous behavior, especially since our university has worked so hard to be a warm, diverse and caring community for all, no matter their race, color, gender, sexual orientation/identification, disability and age. All members of our community should feel comfortable, safe and secure at the university. Indeed, we all should feel that WCSU is our second home.

Again, please rest assured that we are taking every measure possible and working with our law enforcement agencies to find and prosecute these sick individuals and defend our university.

Other incidents at other schools

Inside Higher Ed noted an uptick in the number of "It's OK to be white" flyers found on college campuses around the country, adding that they've typically been posted by off-campus individuals and organizations.

Last weekend leaflets with the "OK to be white" message turned up in Vermont, at the University of Vermont and Champlain College.

Since then the posters have appeared at American River College, Duke University, North Carolina State University, Tufts University, the University of Delaware, the University of Denver and the University of St. Thomas, in Minnesota.

The trend is not confined to the United States. One Canadian institution, the University of Manitoba, also had the posters turn up. In Australia, the use of the phrase by some politicians has set off a major political debate (and appearance of the posters), but in that case, the focus is not in higher education.

Also last week, white nationalist posters turned up at California State University at San Marcos.

An outraged man traveling on the Mass. Pike stopped his car Friday morning to rip down a sign hanging from a highway overpass in Newton that read “It’s OK to be white.”

Thousands of commuters on the busy highway got a glimpse of the large white banner that featured bold black lettering, prompting a response from the Anti-Defamation League of New England.

“It’s pretty disappointing to see people in Massachusetts using a platform like that to disseminate a message that excludes people and targets people,” said Robert Trestan, Executive Director of the ADL’s Boston office.

Sean Roche, who was driving with his daughter, got out of his car and tore the sign down before police arrived at the scene.

The sign appeared Friday on the busy Massachusetts Turnpike, and was ripped down after one enraged man claimed it was “disseminating a message that excludes people and targets people.”

“It’s a statement that being white is under attack right now and it’s just not true,” the man who ripped the sign down told local media. “Being white is such an advantage in this society. To suggest otherwise is just straight-up racism.”

The Anti-Defamation League of New England also condemned the sign, claiming it promoted bigotry.

“It’s pretty disappointing to see people in Massachusetts using a platform like that to disseminate a message that excludes people and targets people,” an ADL rep stated.

The “It’s Okay to be White” phrase first began in 2017 as a mass trolling campaign on the message board 4chan, but has since been deemed a “hate slogan” on the ADL’s website.

Infowars reported last month that trolls on 4chan were planning on re-launching the campaign on October 31st.

Ball State University recently hosted a presentation to “engage with the question of how English language practices in college classrooms contribute to white supremacy.”

“Freeing Our Minds and Innovating Our Pedagogy from White Language Supremacy” was the title of the 75-minute guest lecture given on October 14 by Asao Inoue, a professor and the associate dean of the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts at Arizona State University.“We are all implicated in white supremacy,” Inoue said during his presentation, co-hosted by Ball State’s English department, university writing program, and Office of Inclusive Excellence.

“This is because white supremacist systems like all systems reproduce themselves as a matter of course,” he said. “This includes reproduction of dominant, white, middle-class, monolingual standards for literacy and communication.”

White language supremacy, according to Inoue, is “the condition in classrooms, schools, and society where rewards are given in determined ways to people who can most easily reach them, because those people have more access to the preferred and embodied white language practices, and part of that access is a structural assumption that what is reachable at a given moment for the normative, white, monolingual English user is reachable for all.”

AOC calls Daily Caller 'white supremacists' during bizarre exchange with Mark Zuckerberg

On Thursday's radio program, Glenn Beck and Stu Burguiere discussed a bizarre exchange between Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg during a House Financial Services Committee hearing on Wednesday.

Zuckerberg appeared before Congress to talk about his company's plans to launch a new cryptocurrency called Libra, but the conversation soon turned into yet another opportunity for left-wing racist rhetoric.

Glenn played from the hearing in which Ocasio-Cortez can be heard asking, "Can you explain why you named the Daily Caller, a publication with well-documented ties to white supremacists, as an official fact-checker for Facebook?"

"Congresswoman, sure. We actually don't appoint the independent fact-checkers. They go through an independent organization called the Independent Fact-Checking Network that has a rigorous standard for who they allow to serve as a fact-checker," Zuckerberg answered.

"First of all, that's not true about the Daily Caller," Glenn said. "Now, think about this. [Ocasio-Cortez] is a congresswoman who is supposed to be knowledgeable about this topic. She's on the committee, she's questioning, and she doesn't know that Facebook doesn't name these [fact-checkers]. That is a very basic part of this that she should absolutely know before asking the question," he added.

Glenn and Stu then highlighted a second heated exchange from Wednesday's testimony, in which Ohio Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (D) called Zuckerberg's lack of knowledge about civil rights "appalling and disgusting."

Beatty, the vice chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, fired off a series of questions on Facebook's approach to diversity and Zuckerberg's knowledge of civil rights issues.

"It's like you think it's a joke, when you have ruined the lives of many people and discriminated against them. Do you know what percentage of African Americans are on Facebook, in comparison to majority folks? Do you know what the percentages are?" Beatty asked.

Zuckerberg answered that he did not know "because we don't collect the races of people."

"Well, it came out in a report in the Pew Research Center that was sent to you. So maybe you just don't read a lot of things that deal with civil rights or African Americans," raged Beatty.

A Georgia high school teacher is under fire after making controversial and negative remarks about the Confederate flag.

The incident took place at Hephzibah High School in Hephzibah, Georgia, earlier this week.

What are the details?
According to WRDW-TV, the unnamed teacher projected a photo of a Confederate flag on a school whiteboard on Monday. The caption described the flag as "a sticker you put on the back of your pickup truck to announce that you intend to marry your sister."

"Think of it like a white trash 'Save the Date' card," the caption added.

School officials have placed the teacher on paid administrative leave following the outcry.

Parent Melissa Fuller — whose daughter was once reportedly suspended for wearing a Confederate flag belt buckle — said that the teacher's sentiments about the flag were "unethical." Fuller said that her daughter found the post offensive, and the student took a photo of it to send to her mother.

"A lot of it is that it's not morally correct," she said. "It's just something you don't want to discuss today in today's world and especially inside of a classroom."

Fuller added, "Why was that used? And with it being such a rough area, why would you put that out there to start a class discussion that could have turned very ugly?"

What did the district say?
A spokesperson for the Richmond County School System released a statement admitting that such language in the photo was not suitable for schools.

"The language used in the example was unacceptable and has no place in our classrooms," the statement said, and insisted that the district is "committed to creating a diverse, equitable learning environment for all students."

Another Hate Hoax: Black Girl Who Claimed White Classmates Called Her Names, Cut Her Dreads -- Admits She Made it All Up!
A student at a private middle school in Virginia claimed she was targeted for harassment last week by white students who yelled racial slurs and cut her hair.

On Monday, she admitted all those allegations were false.

Police confirmed an investigation was underway last Friday after Amari Allen, 12, told local media that three white boys at the Immanuel Christian School, where Vice President Mike Pence’s wife teaches, pinned her down and assaulted her, calling her “nappy,” and “ugly,” while they covered her mouth and used scissors to snip her dreadlocks.

Local NBC affiliate WRC-TV reported the “heartbreaking story” last Thursday:

Three sixth-grade boys at a Christian school in Northern Virginia pinned down a black classmate and cut off some of her dreadlocks while telling her her hair was “nappy” and “ugly,” she told News4.

Twelve-year-old Amari Allen said the three boys, who she said are white, cut off her hair on Monday. She’s a student at Immanuel Christian School in Springfield, Virginia, where Vice President Mike Pence’s wife, Karen Pence, teaches part-time.

“They said my hair was nappy and I was ugly,” she said.

On Monday, however, Allen’s legal guardians met with school officials before releasing a statement apologizing to the students blamed and saying the whole event was fabricated.

“To those young boys and their parents, we sincerely apologize for the pain and anxiety these allegations have caused,” reads a statement by Allen’s grandparents sent to The Washington Post.

“To the administrators and families of Immanuel Christian School, we are sorry for the damage this incident has done to trust within the school family and the undue scorn it has brought to the school. To the broader community, who rallied in such passionate support for our daughter, we apologize for betraying your trust.”

“We understand there will be consequences and we’re prepared to take responsibility for them,” they added. “We know that it will take time to heal, and we hope and pray that the boys, their families, the school and the broader community will be able to forgive us in time.”

Police would not comment on the investigation to The Post due to juveniles being involved.

Immanuel Christian School Principal Stephen Danish also released a statement confirming the hoax and sympathizing with the “victims and the hurt on both sides of this conflict.”

“We can now confirm that the student who accused three of her classmates of assault has acknowledged that the allegations were false. We’re grateful to the Fairfax County Police Department for their diligent work to investigate these allegations,” Danish wrote.

“While we are relieved to hear the truth and bring the events of the past few days to a close, we also feel tremendous pain for the victims and the hurt on both sides of this conflict. We recognize that we now enter what will be a long season of healing.”

The event was bought hook, line and sinker by the lapdog media which has increasingly green-lighted hate hoaxes in the Trump era, and is reminiscent of the hoax perpetrated by actor Jussie Smollett in Chicago earlier this year, in which he claimed he was assaulted by two white Trump supporters who put a noose around his neck and yelled “MAGA country” while he tried to grab a Subway sandwich in below-freezing Chicago temperatures.

MSNBC commentator Joy Reid told a group of educators Tuesday that "wealthy white Christian" Americans have shown they are willing to deploy apartheid tactics in order to "maintain power forever."

What are the details?
"No country is an eternal democracy. Democracy is extremely fragile, and multiracial democracy is so fragile, we're practically the only one that's pulled it off," Reid says in a video clip of her remarks. "This is a very difficult thing to maintain. And when you have a very determined minority, in this case wealthy white men and wealthy, white Christian men and Christian Americans who are of the fundamentalist variety, who are very clear that no matter what happens, if they have to pull the South Africa model to maintain power forever, they will do it."

"And they're not afraid of it, and they're increasingly open about it," Reid continued. "And Donald Trump is merely the avatar for this. He didn't create it, he simply benefited from it."

Reid went on to say, "I think the sooner that the majority, the actual numerical majority in this country figures that out and stop treating these elections as just foregone conclusion that you can fix it with just a simple election and that it will be free and fair, the sooner that we will wake up and actually have majority rule in this country."

According to The Washington Examiner, Reid made the claims while speaking during a panel on "Civic Participation in an age of Democratic Peril" at an event for the American Federation of Teachers union.

Fox News reported that Reid also used the word "apartheid" to attack Republicans just a few months ago, and pointed to a tweet where the MSNBC host used the term. Reid was reacting to a Democratic politician's report on the treatment of a U.S. citizen who was detained by ICE after agents suspected he was an illegal immigrant.

Nigerian-born rap artist Jesse Ekene Nweke Conable called for his fans to “shoot” white people while urging, “Take them as slaves and treat them even worse.”

What a fantastic role model for the kids.

The comments were made in a rant posted on a closed Instagram group called Barasvarta (“Blacks only”), according to news outlet Samhällsnytt.

“We, blacks” will “become number one and take over these whites,” said Conable, adding, “Like these whites took us as slaves we should take them as slaves and treat them even worse.”

“We’ll take their bitches and we’ll take their money,” he continued. “To be perfectly honest, we will be the best race ever. We are African warriors, they are not on our level. This is just the beginning, black power.”

Making the shape of a gun with his hand, Conable asserted, “If any white guy or white girl is trying to talk shit about you, shoot them! If they talk shit about your family, shoot them!”

The rapper appears to think he has carte blanche to make violent racist threats against white people, posting a meme that says, “You cannot be racist if you are not white.”

After Conable’s comments were reported on by the media, he announced that he would ‘delete’ the “snitch” who leaked them.

Conable, who emigrated to Sweden in 2008 and now has citizenship, has a combined total of 280,000 subscribers on YouTube.

As we reported earlier this year, another rapper in France released a track in which he sings, “I fuck France, I burn France,” as he is portrayed strangling a white woman meant to symbolically represent France.
